i love this girl. she is a master chef and cleaner and does so much around our little apt 14. also, she is sweeter than any orange juice and is very caring. she also lets me (and the rest of the ward) borrow her movies. oh and shes a babe (as seen in the photo above).

just another saturday

i thought i would share what a typical saturday would be like in my life here in va.

first, i went on a bike ride from the teddy roosevelt island to reagan national airport. this is my favorite bike path bc of the views on the way to the airport. also, once you get to the airport, theres a field and the planes fly over it every 5-10 mins and they look like they would land right on top of you!

then, i waited and waited for someone to call me to do something that night and nothing happened. well actually eli txted me right after i txted tyson. anyway, clayton (who is home!) and tyson were watching a movie and decided to go to bed afterwards. so no clayton or tyson. i txted cassandy and she said she was too tired as well and eli was going over to hang with grant. awesome. no cassandy, eli, or grant either. i dont blame any of these friends, bc duh, ppl get tired and need to sleep. no big really, i just wanted to hang out with SOMEONE bc i shaved my legs and showered and even dried my hair- which was a big deal bc my house is blazing bc a lack of air conditioning. SO this is what i ended up doing.

Why do boys always confess their undying love for me when I move miles away?

Hey guys!
Sorry I haven't written in a while. I want to start by saying that I miss you all terribly and I'm really sad that I'm not living with you guys next year. I wish I would have planned things out differently, but alas, procrastination has screwed me over again. Oh well, I hope you all plan on seeing me around a lot and that we can still have sleep overs. And that we can watch movies together! I think I'm gonna watch Eclipse here in Mexico in Spanish! It's gonna be awesome! Although I think I would much rather watch with you guys...In Mexico...In Spanish? Lets make it happen, ok?

So ya, everything in Mexico is going great. I'm getting pretty good at taking bucket showers and learning how to read in candle light. It's funny because even though I'm living with less than I've ever lived with before, I'm way happy. I think I'm learning to appreciate the things I have more. I don't have pictures yet, cause I lost my camera. But hopefully I'll post some more later. I'll have so many good stories to tell you guys when I get back.

Funny story #1
So I can't use my phone, right? Because it's super expensive and my Mom would get mad if I texted or made a phone call. So I mostly just use my phone for light when I need extra light. But every once and while I check and see if I have any messages. And yesterday I checked my phone and i got a message from Christian Pratt saying "I love you." That's it. Just "I love you" sent at 1:53 on June 23rd. What the heck? So dumb. I hope it's just a funny joke. Or that he accidentally sent it to me because I'm usually the first person on people's contact list. Can anyone tell me what I'm supposed to think of this? Does anyone know if he's still dating Cambrie? It's really funny that Christian would send me this text, despite the fact I don't think he's actually "In love" with me. I'm thinking it was just a joke or someone else sent it on accident or something like that. But it's funny because usually when I move away to school or I go somewhere, both last summer and the summer after I graduated I had boys confess their love for me and how much they love me. Haha thankfully, with James, I loved him to and we were going to the same place for the summer. But ya, it's just ironic, I think. Oh man, I miss the boys in Apartment 9

Funny Sroty #2
So I got invited to go to this party at my host sister's high school. It was an "elote" party, but I didn't know what elote is. It turns out that elote is corn and I looked like a complete gringa because I didn't know what corn was. Haha we put mayonnaise and cheese and spices on the corn just like they do in Nacho Libre! "Get that corn out of my face!" Haha after we got done eating corn we were sitting around and one of the students boyfriends brought beer and cigarettes. Haha it was so funny because they students were drinking and smoking in front of the teacher, the teacher even gave one of the students a lighter to smoke. Eventually, the teacher got a little tipsy and started talking to me in English(because he lived in the states for the while and he knows some English). He ended up saying all the swear words to me at once. It was hilarious because no one else knew what he was saying but me. Haha so hilarious! Good times. Pretty much when you live in Mexico, it always makes for a good story.

Ok well I don't have much internet time, so I should get going. But I miss you all muchisimo. And I miss Maria too and I know that she text me but I can't open it and read it all or text her back because it will be expensive. So if any of you(Alissa or Sarah) talk with her, let her know I miss her too and I'll text her when I get back in the states. Hope all is well with my Ptwon girls. Love,

The Mother of All Blog Posts

So I told Sarah that I would post something sweet, and my mom and Madalyn were gone at a Youth Conference meeting, so Paige and I had some fun times together. First we cleaned up dinner and then I told her that we could do whatever she wanted to, so she braided my entire head with little braids. (she just got good at braiding so she has been braiding everything) Paigey and I are buds and she has been so snuggley with me lately. This is she and I on Mother's Day.

There were three great reactions to my braided head. First was Paige's: "Cassandra, you look like you did a long time ago, like when you were little." Madalyn: (walking through the door) "Whoa!" (She always gives me the funniest looks when I do something crazy) and Sarah when I video chatted with her. Yep, I enjoy making people laugh. Like wearing a ridiculous red straw hat to Paige's soccer game because she dared me to. But that is another story... And yes, I am wearing a sweet apron that I was washing dishes with. Anyways, the last thing a want to leave you all with is a little update on my working life. I basically work all the time, and only get paid sometimes. Because, when I am not nannying or tutoring, I am helping take care of the yard and house. Which I don't mind, I actually find a lot of instant gratification in it. But, it is still work. So, I have a uniform that I would like to share, at least the headgear. Hot, I know. Hopefully this post finds everyone well and makes up for my months of blog-silence. Balloons

So today was Nicole's (my boss) birthday. She turned 24. She told me that she wasn't going to be in to work until 1 so I had 5 hours to finish all the mail and work stuff that needed to be done plus make her a birthday surprise. I had bought a bag of 72 balloons and I was going to blow them all up and put them all over her office. Let me tell you that blowing up 72 balloons by yourself is tricky already, but I have asthma too. Did you know that balloons have this nasty powdery stuff inside of them? Well today I found out the hard way. After about half of the balloons, the inside of my lips started to hurt so bad to the point where I was going to stop but I had to keep going because I couldn't just do some of them. Anyways the point of this story is to tell you that after finishing all 72 of them, my lips feel like the picture above.

B-aY-U Wind aSympony

so i miss japan and korea (the title is how they would say it over there) but i really miss wind symphony the most! i loved playing with my friends. we were in ws bc we love music and we got to celebrate that fact by playing together with a great director, dr. don (who alissa thinks is old man hot). anyway, as much as i thought i didnt enjoy playing in band, ws has taught me that bands can make beautiful music just like orchestras. i love the byu wind symphony! now in the fall i just have to rock everyones behind and become principal clarinet in the Phil.

Art Life

Hi all that live in apartment 14....and in the greater Centennial II. Just posting my life's work, my babies, and semi-apologizing for the art that consumes space in our already crammed apartment. However, I'm not too sorry about it, because really, they are my babies, hours and hours of work, and they are me. The theme songs of my life right now are 2+2=5 by Radiohead and The Way I am by Ingrid Michaelson. Oh, also, should I just keep growing out my hair? Suggestions are appreciated. Well, Enjoi.

missin missionaries

So i pretty much miss these boys and should write to them way more often. So tyson was my old bf back in high school and maybe like back when i was 12... anyway, i didnt really think i missed him at all and then i had a dream with him in it. IT WAS A SIGN! jk. but now i think more about him. hes great. next is my boy clayton grames. affectionately known as clayt (by his family) or claydog (by me). He moved from draper, utah to mclean, va his senior year. left all his friends for his final year of high school but we still had a blast getting to know each other in band and at church. he is the most stellar boy i know. then good ol brock. or brockstar, brockoli, brock and roll....whatever you want. He is so sweet. i bet he is such a ballin missionary. he also makes extremely delicious baked goods that definitely rival Spencer Rubens. last but not least is Michael Jeppesen. he is such a fun friend. i could always be myself around him and yes i did feel bad when he would make those "he went to jared" jokes.

I love these boys and I know they are super missionaries and cant wait to see them again!

It's A Full Moon!

I just need to complain for two seconds because now that I am the athletic trainer for football, I have seen so many butt cracks!  I swear, it's ridiculous!   I have seen more butt cracks in the last month than I have in my entire life!  Guys just come up to me and basically pull their pants down so that I can tape their back or give them a massage or make sure their back is aligned.  It's disgusting!  Haha the football boys are pretty brutal, not gonna lie.

classic skating meets black grant

so all of the roomies have already seen the bruise, but i thought i would post this just for memories sake. our ward went classic skating on tuesday which would be my 2nd time at classic skating. So the night went well- the screaming decreased throughout. i enjoyed having the apt 9 boys coming up and cutting me off and pretending to be all unstable and almost falling. Next thing i know, grant from the ward hits me from behind and im down on the floor. the worst part was the surprise, and i guess my knee hurt pretty bad. i got up fine and sam was next to me and asked if i was ok. i said yes and he proceeded to tell me that i was pretty. hahaha. anyway, the night was fun and was ended perfectly with fast driving and singing at the top of my lungs with a-juice.

Yes, I have a type

I just want everyone in our apartment to know that the boy that I'm going to marry is going to be real real tall with blond hair and blue eyes. And he's going to be athletic. That's pretty much the only requirements. Haha just kidding, there has to be a lot more to him, but those are the superficial characteristics that I want. I also realize, after my discussion with Sarah the other night, that I'm describing David Wheeler. Haha weird! Although when I see David, I definitely don't feel attraction to him. But just in case anyone was wondering(and I'm sure you all are) or planing on setting me up on a blind date, a tall, blond haired blue eyed boy would be preferred. Yes, I definitely have a type. Anyways, I've procrastinated writing my Spanish essay enough. Love you guys!
