sometimes i dont burn things

ive made/baked some goodies this summer. and fortunately (and surprisingly), i didnt burn them.

This is a little s'more type treat. it has almonds, marshmallows, and coconut on top of grahams. and lots of butter! i dont really know if it turned out how it was supposed to, but it was good.

This is the zucchini bread that i made. bro. goodsell gave us the zucchini from his garden. my mom said it was probably the size of my brother devins arm. (thats massive btw...) it was really good bread. heres the recipe.

This is a super easy key lime pie. you use gelatin, yogurt, sweetened condensed milk, and limes. and its pretty delicious. my mom loves it. i also made like 10 of these at the beach when it was our night to make dinner.

maybe we can make some of these goodies in our bite-size southridge kitchen.

who uses drawers anyway? i just use my bed.

so there are 2 beds in my room. i use this one as a closet.

i was just thoroughly surprised to find clean bras in my drawer. that was the first time i opened my dresser in probably a month. who knew i actually put my clothes away once?

Summer Camp

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I have a blog for my art classes this summer, and thought you might want to check it out and see what we are doing. here is the url: http://artistshavemorefun.blogspot.com/ This week I am teaching an art + nature = fun class, and then next week starts my ceramic classes. So far it has been pretty tiring but a great learning experience and I think the kids are having fun. Also, an awkward picture of Devin pretending to kiss a woman on a screen at the Museum of Natural History for you to enjoi. Love to all.

engagged to be marred

So my life has been embroiled in wedding and work. Thankfully two nights ago Devin and I escaped to watch some LOTR extended Return of the King special features!! ;)

The biggest thing I have realized is that I am not very good at taking posed pictures. We had two engagement photo shoots with a friend out here and I just felt stupid the whole time. But....we chose a picture and are now addressing announcements!

2 diff spontaneous visits to NY

1st trip to NY this summer was to Palmyra! i went with David and Alyse Wheeler and singles from their stake. They asked me on Wednesday and we left on Friday morning at 7 am!

on the way we stopped for gas in this lovely-named town.

then we set up our tents! this was really exciting for me since i had never set up a tent let alone slept in one.
we went to the sacred grove, got to do baptisms in the palmyra temple at midnight--who can say theyve done baptisms at 12 am??-- made cards for our armed forces for memorial day, played lots of frisbee, and played cards while everyone else was getting their groove on at a hoppin' singles dance.

next trip to NY was for a camp i attended called "Clarinetopia." awesome i know. Abby Clough Tippetts and I went and played in master classes and recitals. i learned a lot and now know that i need to practice like 1000x what i normally do. the camp was on long island, but after it was done, abby and i went to the city to play for a bit before i took her to the airport in new jersey.

here im in front of the location of my next job... (this is where the new york philharmonic plays)

we also went to the Guggenheim museum. i think i liked the architecture more than the art....

and the inside

NY is pretty cool. im glad i live so close and am able to drive up when i feel like getting out of my house.
